interdisciplinary rehabilitation, education and support for adults and their
families following an acquired brain injury. We work with people in our award winning,
purpose built centre, in clients homes and within the community.
We are looking for someone who
will provide excellent leadership to our interdisciplinary team, take responsibility for clinical delivery and quality management as well as someone
who can see the bigger picture and work alongside the service manager on strategic
development and implementing change. It will be important to establish and
maintain good working relationships not just internally but with clinical leads
and other roles within organisations across the neuro
rehabilitation pathway as we work towards the integration agenda.

Main duties of the job
In the role of clinical lead you will lead the interdisciplinary
team, ensuring delivery of individual rehabilitation programmes that have been
developed through robust assessment, goal planning and review process.
Maximise throughput by managing referrals and the waiting list ensuring that resources are being used effectively and efficiently to meet client needs.
Lead on clinical
quality management and clinical effectiveness ensuring professional service standards are in place and maintained through service
evaluation and audit.
Work collaboratively with the manager and senior management team on the continual development of the Icanho rehabilitation service. Monitor service delivery and lead on service improvement, evaluating the effectiveness of change, and supporting the team throughout.
Responsible for
staff training budget. Identifies training and educational needs of the clinical team in order to maintain
a specialist service.
Support recruitment of the clinical team and ensure
appropriate supervision of all clinical staff, providing annual appraisal and
supervision for direct reports.
Act as a
specialist resource in the field of acquired brain injury rehabilitation sharing
expertise and knowledge within Livability and with external
organisations across the rehabilitation pathway at system level. Work with partner organisations to influence and implement local acquired brain injury strategy moving towards integrated service provision.

About us
Well established and respected in Suffolk for over 25 years, Livability Icanho is a non-residential highly
specialist community based brain injury service with its main base in
Stowmarket Suffolk in easy reach of Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds and 45 mins from Cambridge or Colchester. Purpose built centre with free on site parking.
Operated by national charity Livability and jointly commissioned by 3 ICBs
and Suffolk County Council. We work closely with acute and community NHS teams.
You will be
joining an exemplary interdisciplinary team of approximately 26 staff consisting
of physiotherapy , occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology,
social worker, consultant in rehab medicine, rehabilitation assistants and
administration. We are driven by our core values striving to be open, enabling, inclusive and courageous in all that we do.
The service is truly client centred and we provide a creative, responsive and forward-thinking work environment, we are a small and friendly team where everyone's contribution is valued and staff are supported to develop and reach their full potential.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm

- To ensure that Icanho delivers a high quality specialist brain injury rehabilitation service to clients and their families, maintaining a high standard of service delivery at all times.
- Provide clinical leadership and daily management of the interdisciplinary team, being accessible to the team for consultation and support with difficult/challenging situations.
- Ensure the service is interdisciplinary in nature, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all partner organisations moving towards the development of integrated service provision across Suffolk.
- Lead on clinical quality management and education ensuring service standards are developed and maintained through audit and evaluation.
- Provide complex case management and support to the interdisciplinary team and partner organisations across the rehabilitation pathways.
- Work with the management team on developing different income streams including liaising with the ICB re cases outside of the Icanho statutory contract. (Individual funding requests)
- Work with the manager on the strategic development of the service, leading on the clinical development of the service, as project lead on delegated topics and the clinical advisor for operational projects when required.
- Deputise for service manager in their absence.

- Work with Service manager to maintain core contracts with the ICBs and local authorities.
- Influence local strategy and policy-making with regard to neuro rehabilitation by participating in forums, committees and meetings as required.
