Job summary

Acorns Children's Hospice are looking for a Children's Palliative Clinical Lead to join the team in our Three Counties Hospice, Worcester. The Clinical Lead manage a multi-disciplinary team, develop programmes of care and provide nursing care to children and young people with a range of complex health needs, life limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Main duties of the job

As Children's Palliative Clinical Lead, you will:

  • Manage and be responsible for the supervision and development of a largemulti-disciplinaryteamconsistingofallgradesofnursingstaff,students and support workers
  • Manageand co-ordinatethe clinicalarea,participating in direct patient care and supervision of staff.
  • Demonstrate expertise in symptom management and end of life care including after death care, to support staff to develop skills
  • Participateinthe development andimplementation of newinitiativesand contribute to the advancement of clinical practice within the hospice
  • To promote communication with the children and young people, encouraging them to express their wishes and concerns to their best ability (this may include non-verbal, electronic or alternative communication methods)
