Job summary

Team leaders will provide a management function within CAVDAS Adult delivery teams across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, to ensure effective service delivery, and will assist the service manager in the on-going development and promotion of the service. This will involve establishing and nurturing good relationships with a variety of stake holders and partners across health and social care system.

Carry out governance audits and contribute to the review and development of service provider.

Manage, motivate and lead CAVDAS service delivery teams/

Provide operational leadership into high quality service delivery for service users to meet the Cardiff and Vale substance misuse outcome framework.

Implement robust systems for reporting any untoward incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns.

Contribute to staff recruitment and human resources within the service.

Ensure appropriate safeguarding and data protection principles are adhered in working practice.

To attend and report to safeguarding reviews, meetings and conferences e.g. Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs) and Fatal Drug Poisoning Review Panel.

Liaise closely with health and social care service providers such as Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan Social Services teams, Family Drug and Alcohol Court, C&VUHB (CAU / DATT/Newlands/Pine Ward) to assist with seamless transitions to and from CAVDAS.

To ensure appropriate crisis intervention is available where necessary and appropriate.

About us

Background to Service:

Cardiff and Vale Drug and Alcohol Service (CAVDAS) is an Alliance of Barod, Recovery Cymru and Kaleidoscope Project with strategic partners G4S and Pobl. CAVDAS Alliance has been commissioned by the Cardiff and Vale Substance Misuse Area Planning board. CAVDAS services will deliver specialist support and interventions across Youth Justice Services, Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Cardiff Council Housing Services, Counselling, Recovery and Aftercare, Volunteering and Service User Involvement, Rapid Access Prescribing (RAPS), structured interventions, peer support and mutual aid, Harm Reduction and Work Force Development. CAVDAS will deliver an integrated young persons, adults and family and carer information, advice, interventions, and support service. CAVDAS will work across Cardiff and Vale Health and Social Care partners, and forums to co-produce services delivering outcomes in the way that people want. We are looking to build a new culture providing one system for Cardiff and Vale and a unified, innovative, and flexible delivery model.

Compile reports on attendance, engagement, and recovery from substance use, and submit accurate and reflective assessments for safeguarding and unmet needs care planning.

Provide operational leadership into high quality service delivery for service users to meet the Cardiff and Vale substance misuse outcome framework.

Implement robust systems for reporting any untoward incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns.

Collaboratively develop and implement effective and flexible systems and structures.

Adhere to robust working agreements and care pathways to support service users transitioning between CAVDAS delivery teams and throughout the wider health and social care system.

Continue to deploy performance management at an operational level, ensuring that services collect, collate, and report the required information and data; identify areas of under-performance and planning and implementing actions to improve performance.

Contribute to staff recruitment and human resources within the service.

Implement and demonstrate CAVDAS policies, procedures, and protocols across the service, to ensure that safety and good practice are maintained for staff, other agencies and service users.

Ensure case notes and other statutory records are up to date and kept in accordance with CAVDAS policies and procedures/regional information sharing protocols.

Work with the Service Manager, CAVDAS Alliance Manager and the Alliance Manager to allocate resources and provide an innovative and flexible services across Cardiff and the Vale.

Co-ordinate the delivery of an integrated service in the locality through the provision of assessment, aftercare action planning, engagement, retention, planned discharge and onward referral as appropriate.

Communicate CAVDAS values and vision.

Ensure service user involvement and co-production is at the heart of service delivery.

Ensure appropriate safeguarding and data protection principles are adhered in working practice.

Respond in a timely and appropriate manor to complaints feedback and concerns in line with CAVDAS policies and procedures.

To attend and report to safeguarding reviews, meetings and conferences e.g. Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs) and Fatal Drug Poisoning Review Panel.

To work within agreed policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.

Promote information regarding substance use and associated lifestyle behaviours that reduces the risk of overdose, reduces the spread of blood borne viruses, promotes healthy living, and minimises the potential risks and impact of drug related crime and disorder on the wider community.

Liaise closely with health and social care service providers such as Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan Social Services teams, Family Drug and Alcohol Court, C&VUHB (CAU / DATT/Newlands/Pine Ward) to assist with seamless transitions to and from CAVDAS. Assist with the production of leaflets, marketing material and web pages.

To ensure appropriate crisis intervention is available where necessary and appropriate

Promote and encourage the utilisation of self-help manuals.

  • GCSE English Literature or Language, grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
