Job summary
This role is for 4 months - 1 April to August 2026.
40 hours per week and 1 in 8 on call (will consider slightly less than full time).
This is a bespoke post created at ST3/4 level withing Palliative Medicine to work within a 31 bed Hospice Ward setting. This would be ideal for Trainees who wish to develop IM3 competences and apply for training in a specialist programme in the future. Training will be provided to help you develop your skills. It would also be suitable experience for colleagues considering some time out or programme training in a related speciality such as geriatrics or oncology.
Main duties of the job
The main
duties and responsibilities of this post are:
*Participating
in the face to face assessment and management of hospice inpatients, reviewing
new admissions and those with more complex issues on a day to day basis
*Providing
clinical supervision and coordination of clinical work for core trainees on the
hospice ward
*Working
closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary hospice team, providing
holistic care for patients
*Having the
opportunity to see other aspects of hospice care including outpatients, day
therapy and community palliative care
*Ensuring a
safe and high standard of care for all patients
