Job summary

6 session replacement GP Partner required to start April 2026 working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We are looking for someone who is keen and ready to commit to the practice.

We are based in Tadcaster which is between Leeds, York and Harrogate and care for patients in both North and West Yorkshire.

We would welcome informal visits from interested candidates prior to shortlisting.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve six clinical sessions each week, we operate a total triage system and the GP partners share this between them.

There is also a requirement to cover extended access on a pro rata basis.

As a partner you will also be involved in the running of the practice, recruitment and finance. Most of the existing partners have been here for over 20 years so have a wealth of experience to share but we are always open to new points of view.

About us

We are a single site practice, part dispensing. Our list size is 9400 and we have a friendly and supportive team in place.

We are a training practice (Harrogate VTS) and take final year students from HYMS.

As part of our PCN team we have access to a Physiotherapist, Mental Health Practitioner, visiting Paramedics and a Social Prescriber as well as remote Pharmacist consultations.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the GP partner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the practice population.

Adhering to local and national guidance for generic prescribing.

Processing of referrals, repeat prescription requests etc.

On a rotational basis and pro rata to sessional commitment, provide duty doctor/triage roles and extended hours etc.

Accept responsibility for clinical and non-clinical lead roles within the practice,including property management and clinical governance.

Show leadership qualities, ensuring an even distribution of the practice workload.

Promote effective working relationships and communication within the practice.

Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings remain fully focused on the strategic aims of the practice.

Attend partnership meetings contributing in a positive manner.

Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times.

Liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times.

Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.

Drive development of enhanced services within the practice, liaise with external agencies and professional organisations.

  • Medical Degree
  • GMC Fully Registered
  • Currently on Performers List
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development

Experience

  • Experience of working in a primary care

  • General understanding of the GMS Contract

  • Experience of Medicines Management
