EMed has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prescribing Mental Health Practitioner to join our clinical team. Following a business restructure we are looking to further develop our team of Mental Health Prescribers.
The role will involve conducting digital consultations remotely from anywhere in England, Scotland or Wales as part of a wider clinical team. Patients will book in for mental health needs which may involve prescribing. This will involve seeing a wide range of mental health conditions and presentations as you would in a primary care setting. Experience in seeing and assessing mental health patients and ability to work independently is key. You will have a passion for improving healthcare and an innovative mindset to your consulting.
We require a minimum commitment of 20 hours a week. These hours can be completed any time Monday to Friday between 9am to 6pm.
This position can be performed anywhere within England, Scotland or Wales and will be well supported by strong clinical and non clinical teams in the eMed Head Office.
Main duties of the job
You will act as an autonomous prescribing practitioner providing highly specialised assessment, treatment and expert intervention specifically for patients booking for mental health needs.
You will work as a holistic practitioner and offer a wide range of options and interventions where clinically appropriate
The ability to confidently manage a wide range of mental health conditions and presentations.
To act confidently within scope and know when to refer on as appropriate.
You will prescribe within scope and according to EMed and GP at Hands prescribing policies.
To have an open and innovative mindset to how healthcare can be delivered digitally to improve patient outcomes.
Triage and manage patients to reduce the impact on external stakeholders; ensuring that patients are seen by the most appropriate healthcare professional and onward referrals are appropriate in nature.
Communicate effectively over a wide range of topics with a diverse population to achieve best possible clinical outcomes.
Work collaboratively not only within the mental health practitioner team, but the wider multidisciplinary team and EMed Health team.

Must be confident and proficient in using IT and multiple systems
Must be able to talk and type at the same time.
Experience in digital health or telehealth (desirable)
Experience in primary care (desirable)
