Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and well organised IT and Data Quality Manager to join our busy but friendly Practice Team. The post holder will be responsible for the generation of and analysis of clinical and non-clinical information to ensure that the practice meets the quality targets and clinical standards, improves patient care and maximises practice income. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a General Practice and be experienced with the EMIS Web and MS systems. They will work closely with the Practice Manager and Clinicians to develop and implement systems needed to meet the fast-changing requirements of modern General Practice.

Main duties of the job

The role is responsible for taking the lead in all aspects of IT across the Practice, from producing audits and reports, technical support and supporting patients with online access. Administrative support with clinical templates, patient recalls, protocol development and taking the lead on Data Security and Protection.

We are a friendly 5 Partner training practice based in Old Swan in Liverpool serving 9,300 patients. Our team also includes: 3 salaried GPs, 3 Registrars, F2 doctor, ANP, 3 Practice Nurses, HCA, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Practice Manager, Reception Manager, Secretary and a team of Receptionist/Care Navigators and Administrative Staff.

Job responsibilities

To be the main contact for co-ordinating all IT issues within the Practice

Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of the EMIS clinical system and other software suppliers, (Ardens, Patchs, Teams, Check Cloud) which are relevant to the development of the Practice making recommendations as appropriate

In conjunction with the Practice Manager to establish protocols to ensure the accurate input of data and enable access of information as necessary

Build searches and extract data for service improvement, internal and external reporting; QOF data, recalls, appointment analysis, KPI targets etc.

Maximising internal systems to ensure robust delivery of services including telephone system

To be responsible for ensuring that all IT related standard operating procedures are documented, reviewed appropriately, communicated and all being adhered to. Put in place improvement plans to address any non-compliance.

To develop robust IT business continuity plans.

To maintain and update the Practice Website and Social Media sites

To provide training and support to the Practice staff on the use of information systems. Identifying training needs and regular staff updates.

To lead on ensuring best practice in Information Governance.

Undertaking the range of tasks required or advised under GDPR, ICO and National Data Security and Protection Toolkit such as data mapping, reporting data breaches, compliance audits etc

To ensure compliance with the Data Protection Security and Protection Toolkit around Data requirements and develop action plans to address any non-compliance

To assist with general office duties including coding and data inputting of hospital letters and documents.
