Job summary

Due to semi retirement of one of our long-standing nurses a part-time vacancy has arisen to join a great, GP training surgery with a good CQC rating, supportive staff and colleagues and appreciative patients. The nursing team consisting of five PNs, a trainee nurse, HCA and four phlebotomists enjoy their work, looking after 14,000 patients. We are looking for a hardworking nurse with a good sense of humour to join this supportive team. Full training is available to anyone new to Practice Nursing or who wants to develop their skills.

Main duties of the job

The role of the PN is varied and interesting and team work is an important attribute. Working to provide care for all ages of the community makes this a very worthwhile position. Variety of duties is key to this position and includes - child immunizations, cervical cytology, LTCs, wound care etc.

About us

The whole PHCT consisting of ten GPs, Nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, social prescribers, MHP , first contact practitioners and care-coordinators provide great care for our patient population. We have a respiratory specialist nurse and a diabetic specialist nurse. A full admin team and care navigators, offer support to all of the clinicians.

The team are welcoming and enjoy their roles and turnover of staff is very low.

We are part of a local PCN called CROWN.

PART-TIME 20 hrs per week (over 2 days)

Mondays & Wednesday (ideally)

SALARY according to experience and qualifications

Due to semi-retirement, we are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone either with experience or new to general practice

We are a friendly, well organised, training practice. The Practice has 6 Partners providing care alongside 3 salaried GPs, GP trainee, a Pharmacists, Paramedics and Physio team looking after 13,700 patients

The nursing team consists of 5 other nurses who have specialities in diabetes and respiratory medicine. We have a Nursing Associate, HCA and Phlebotomists.

Also within our team are PCN staff consisting of care coordinators, social prescribers plus an experienced team of admin and reception staff.

We use the SystmOne computer software. Good IT skills are essential.

Experience of a practice nurse is welcome, but we are willing to accept someone new to general practice. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to nursing and a good team player with good work ethic. You will work autonomously and independently in conjunction with other members of the clinical team. You will assess, triage, diagnose and treat patients with a range of problems, with screening and health promotion a high priority. Goodcommunication skills are essential for this role and effective pathways for practice staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Experience in diabetes, respiratory care and prescribing would be welcome but not essential. However, willingness for the candidate to start to undertake training once settled into theirposition would be encouraged.

They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of the patients, ensuring that practice policies and procedures are followed. They will also assist theManagers and Lead Practice Nurse with duties related to CQC outcomes, ensuring that compliance is maintained.
