Wenworth 1
Primary Care Network (PCN) is looking to employ a Paramedic under the
additional roles reimbursement scheme (ARRS).
The post holder will be accountable to the Primary Care Network, the
individual may also work across more than one GP Practice within the PCN in
some cases where flexibility allows and for the purposes of support. The post

number of roles available and would be happy to discuss this with you.
Predominantly we are seeking individuals who can work 37.5 hours, 30 hours,
22.5 hours. Monday to Friday within core openting times.
Main duties of the job
Assess
and triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide
definitive treatment (including prescribing medications following policy,
patient group directives, NICE and local guidelines or make necessary
recommendations to other members of the primary care team.
Use
advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients, promote self-care
and encourage them to make informed choices about their treatment.
Perform
and interpret ECGs.
Work
as part of an MDT within the PCN.
Undertake
the collection of pathological specimens including bloods, swabs and other
samples within scope of practice.
Maintain
accurate health records using Systm1, appropriate to the consultation, ensuring
accurate completion of necessary documentation associated with patient health
care and registration with practice.
Communicate
effectively with patients and where appropriate family members and their
carers, where applicable, complex and sensitive information regarding their
physical heath needs.

Job responsibilities
Triage, assess and treat patients at home, or in
the surgery when directed to do so. Make any necessary referrals in
collaboration with the referring or duty clinician to other members of the
primary health care team, community or hospital teams or social care team as
appropriate.
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate
treatment, interventions and care for patients presenting with an
undifferentiated diagnosis on an acute basis within the boundaries of
competence, seeking the advice of the referring or duty clinician if outside
level of knowledge and scope of practice.
Where appropriate, discuss with the referring or
duty clinician doctor the needs of patients presenting with complex health
needs or conditions requiring specific treatment, hospital admission or
referral.
Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a
physiological and psychological perspective, interpret test results and plan
clinical care accordingly.
Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and
remains within the boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations.
Advise patients on general health care and minor
ailments, with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health
care team as necessary.
Work as an autonomous practitioner within general
practice or in the community setting, caring for patients and families, in
accordance with the Health and Care Professions Council Standards and
Proficiency, Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics. Ensure that personal
and professional clinical standards and development are maintained.
Prescribe/issue medications as appropriate
following national policies, patient group directives and local pathways and in
accordance with own competence.
Formally and informally impart knowledge and skills
to colleagues promoting peer review and best practice within the work
environment, ensuring the delivery of a safe and effective service.

procedures requested by the GPs, only accepting to carry out procedures that
you are appropriately trained to complete.
