Job summary

The duties of this role may vary from time to time under the direction of the GP Partner dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the practices, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
  • Commitment to support the delivery of an excellent standard of patient care.
  • Ability to manage change through motivation and leadership.
  • Ensure the practice meets NHS targets and adapts to change within a profitable, effective, and efficient working environment.

  • Overseeing the day to day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve primary responsibilities.
  • Supporting the delivery of excellent patient care with vision, willingness, and drive.
  • Excellent leadership and people skills.
  • Previous NHS Management and Operational experience (Primary Care experience desirable)
  • Be an effective communicator at all levels.
  • Maintain accreditation for the practice in respect of CQC compliance.
  • Help develop efficient systems of management to include IT, Human Resources, Financial and risk management and to delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and deal with disciplinary issues accordingly.
  • Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure collaborative working across all teams in the practice as well as with the wider NHS community.
  • Knowledge of Primary Care Networks and how practices work in collabration with PCN's.

About us

Rawmarsh Health Centre is a small practice with around 4000 patients within the Rotherham area. The team consists of a Partner GP, a salaried GP, a Nursing team, Health Care Assistants and a Physician Associate. All are supported by Care Navigators and a small administration team.

Implementing new initiatives to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the practice ensuring appropriate manpower is available.

Ensuring immediate issues that arise during the working day, e.g. patient, staff, doctor, and premises issues and dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner.

Ensuring effective communication between all team members including GPs, Nurses, and non-clinical staff.

Responsible for maintaining effective relationships with external organisations, i.e. The Integrated Care Board (ICB), The Primary Care Network (PCN), Account.

Monitoring Quality Improvement Activity, ensuring records are kept of discussions and learning actions.

Management of MHRA CAS Alerts and Patient Safety Alerts.

Responsible for organising weekly workload GP cover.

Responsible for the management of the QoF, IIF indicators, and CQC with support from the GP partner.

Responsible for ensuring all claims are completed in a timely fashion and that income for the practice is maximised.

  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 2 in business management or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft programs; excel, word, PowerPoint.
  • Management Experience.
  • Experience in customer service/patient-facing roles.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - with ability to manage confidential information appropriately.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in Primary Care
  • Experience in working in General Practice
  • System One/ EMIS Experience.
