We are looking for a pro-active and friendly Receptionist to join us and become a key member of the Team.
The post holder will ideally have worked in general practice and offer strong people skills to continue to offer the very best service to our patients.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills. You will be expected to work on your own initiative and also work well within a team environment. The duties of a GP receptionist will include; booking appointments, handling a large volume of incoming calls/online requests, processing patient queries and general day to day office duties. Dr Bano & Partner is a surgery trying to provide the best possible service and have a patient focused ethos.
We currently have 4200 patients and growing.
We have 1 GP Partner and 2 Long term Locum GP's. Other members of our Clinical team include ANPs, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, a Paramedic and Pharmacist support. We also have a large hardworking admin team providing support to the clinicians and patients.

Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Administration
- To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
- To work in accordance of written protocols
Reception
- Receiving patients, consulting with members of practice team
- Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
- Collect data as necessary e.g. up to date contact numbers / smoking status etc.
Appointments
- Process appointment requests for today/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
- Deal with visits/requests
Computer
- Process patients changes of address computer data and medical records
- Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines
Other Tasks
- Clear rooms after surgeries
- Ensure building security to follow protocol
Any other tasks allocated by managers
