Job summary

18 Hours per week (over 3 /4 days, will require working on a Friday)

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team to help provide admin support to our busy practice.

The role will be varied and will require the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as on your own initiative with a can-do attitude. You will need to be organised and methodical in your approach to tasks and ensure attention to detail.

An example of tasks you will be required to perform include, liaising with patients and staff by telephone, booking appointments, sending referrals to secondary care, running searches on the clinical system, summarising new patient records, processing emails,using AccuRx to send patient messages/booking links, Using IGPR software to process subject access requests, managing spreadsheets, managing stock levels of stationery, photocopying, scanning, and filing.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our supportive and friendly team.

This position is for 18 hours per week and can be worked over 3 or 4 days to suit the applicant. This position benefits from £12.60 per hour, NHS Pension & 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata) per annum.

To assist with running searches and audits on the clinical system to ensure patients recalled in a timely manner and that income opportunities are maximised, and excellent patient care is achieved. To provide support with safeguarding administration and send referrals to secondary care when required.

Main responsibilities

  • Carry out searches, audits, and recalls as required by the doctors, nurses, and practice manager. These may be for QoF, recalls, identifying patients eligible for specific services or in conjunction with any research the practice is involved with.
  • Maintain stock of non-medical supplies and create a stock management system for monitoring this.
  • Process and summarise patient notes.
  • General administration duties, such as photocopying, filing and scanning.
  • Manage NHS mailbox to ensure patients SMS can be sent.
  • Process emails
  • Provide referral support for the secretarial team
  • Any other duties commensurate with skills and responsibilities
  • Process Subject Access Requests
  • Manage requests for medical reports and other private work
