This role is for
a Data Analyst to work with the Primary Care Network (PCN) and Derwentside
Healthcare Limited (DHL), the Derwentside primary care GP federation, on a
range of projects to achieve the best possible outcomes for our Practices,
their patients and populations.
The post holder
will develop routine analysis and reporting tools in conjunction with the
Digital and Transformation Lead, that enable an effective consistent and
co-ordinated approach across the PCN. They will provide management information
that demonstrates outcomes and benefits for Primary Care.
You will be committed

Main duties of the job
Develop, design,
maintain and embed reports that support the teams objectives. This will
include gathering, processing and formulating data on current projects -
timelines, deliverables, savings, project stages.
Develop
visual dashboards that provide succinct, meaningful management information
Support
the identification of ongoing risks against each project and the development of
tools to assess, report and help manage these risks to enable successful
project completion.
Support the PCN/DHL Manager and Directors to build strong data management
processes to regulate the gathering and inputting of project information, and
to implement the processes
Support
the PCN/DHL Manager
and Directors in the development of routine analysis and reporting tools
that will provide the team with management data to help plan future work and
how best to allocate team resources
Receive
complex and sensitive information in regard to project and procurement
activity. This information will be gathered with the co-operation of the wider
team, customers and suppliers.
Process,
manage and disseminate complex and detailed data to support PCN/DHL Manager and Directors in delivering their
Programmes / Projects, and to inform customers as part of regular reporting.
To
assist the PCN/DHL Manager and Directors in compiling and maintaining a suite of
templates to ensure data integrity.
Respond
to ad-hoc data analysis requests.
To deliver reports and management information in a timely way
About us
Derwentside Healthcare Limited is a GP Federation whose shareholders are the 12 GP practices working across the locality known as Derwentside in the North Durham area.
Contracting and commissioning of local patient services began undergoing significant changes in 2013 and the Federation was subsequently formed to secure contracts on behalf of practices, sub-contracting when necessary and/or appropriate to do so.
The Board of the Federation is currently made up of 3 Non Clinical Directors and 2 Clincal Directors and the inaugural board meeting was held in July 2015.
The role of the Federation is also to provide an additional line of income and security to practices of all sizes across our footprint. The company is ran on a "for profit" basis and the all profits are reinvested in the 12 GP practices in Derwentside.

Quality and Safety Initiative (QASI) which supports and rewards practices to improve patient and practice outcomes using evidence based interventions to tackle local health needs.
The Federation also holds a contract with Derwentside Primary Care Network to deliver the PCN agenda.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably relevant to Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or analytical discipline.
- GCSE qualification (or equivalent) must include English Language / Literature & Mathematics grade C or above.
- Be computer literate, able to operate commonly used IT.
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products with advanced level skills and a full understanding of the wider net packages and manage their own IT system with support from the IT provider.
Desirable
- Have an understanding and experience of working in the health service with knowledge and understanding of the roles of the NHS organisation and of the primary care sector.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of designing and maintaining complex queries including interpretation of data and reporting using an appropriate variety of charts/ graphical techniques.
- Experience of reviewing large data sets identifying key messages and presenting findings from complex analysis to senior management within the client organisation with little or no supervision.
- Experience of having used data analysis effectively including identification of poor performance concerns and/ or us of data to identify efficiencies and scope for improvement in processes systems and services.
- Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within an organisation both orally and in writing. This must include the ability to write effective reports.
- Advanced IT skills particularly use of Microsoft Office (Word Excel and PowerPoint). This will include the ability to accurately input data to spreadsheets and databases as well as the ability to effectively analyse interpret and evaluate information.
