Job description: Operations Manager
Responsible to: Management Partner

Primary location: Martonside
Medical Centre
Job Purpose
The post holder is responsible for the
day-to-day/patient-facing operation of Martonside Medical Centre. They are expected
to show initiative by identifying operational problems and potential new solutions/developments
and then generating proposals for how they could be implemented.
Practice
Development
Generate ideas on how services to
patients can be improved and the operational aims of the practice can be
achieved. Will be expected to work with the partners implementing short- and
long-term objectives.
Support the Management Partner in
reviewing all policies and procedures on a regular basis.
Practice Organisation
To be responsible for development and
maintenance of protocols which enable the practice to comply with the
requirements of the GMS2 contract.
To be responsible for the smooth running
of the Martonside office and administrative procedures, working rotas and
appointment systems.
To co-ordinate and continually assess
the practice appointment diary ensuring that the appropriate level of workforce
is provided to manage patient demand safely.
To manage all locum staff bookings.
To be responsible for the smooth running
of the site secretarial team.
Liaise with partners as appropriate in
their individual area of responsibility.
To be the practice point of contact for
the ICB and PCN. To attend the PCN Working Group and Board meetings as the
practice non-clinical representative.
Practice Complaints
Procedure
Manage the Martonside complaints
procedure.
Personnel
Management
To be line manager for all the
Martonside reception, administrative and secretarial team.
Ensure that all Martonside administrative
staff members have access to quality inductions, appraisals and on-going
positive performance management. This will include undertaking inductions, annual
appraisals and performance management of some staff members that report
directly to you as well as others deemed appropriate.
Creating and maintaining effective
communication, morale, team building and co-ordination within the practices.
To manage the process of scheduling
locum clinicians for Martonside.
Finance
Co-ordinate
and direct Martonsides QOF admin effort, regularly monitoring progress and
instigating measures to improve progress where necessary.
Ensure
all enhanced service claims and FP34s are submitted for payment.
Premises
To be responsible for the day-to-day
management of the premises including health and safety issues.
Computer
Working the Management Partner, develop
the practice in the field of technology, identify potential for improvements
and ensure the practices are abreast of current technology.
To lead on the implementation of new IT
software

multitude and the most effective communication platforms. Groups may include
internal employees, partners, contractors or external health partners across
the ICB, Acute Trust, Community Staff.
