Join our
friendly team at Glebefields Surgery, a very well respected GP Surgery in Tipton.
We are seeking to
recruit 2 Receptionists / Administrators further to staff retirement, the
successful candidates would be joining a small, friendly team. We have a history of high quality care and
good all round service provision to all of our patients.
You will act as
first point of contact for patients and visitors using the practice.
Main duties of the job
To answer the
telephone promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner,
being aware of the need to maintain confidentiality at all times.
To cover the
reception desk to deal with patients face to face.
Booking, cancelling,
and amending patients appointments using Systmone.
To maintain a good rapport
/ relationship between internal and external staff of the practice at all
times.
To have an overview
of the demands and workflow of the Practice during the working day.
Ensure the waiting
area, reception front desk is kept tidy and ensure forms and patient
information is kept stocked up where possible.
Effectively signpost
patients to services, appropriate to their needs
Process and request repeat
prescriptions
Liaise with
clinicians for any patient queries in line with organisation protocols
Work with the team
of receptionists to cover any of the duties expected of the team

- Previous receptionist / administration experience in a similar setting and ideally general practice.
- The ability to exercise judgment when dealing with patient enquiries / problems.
- Knowledge of docman and other clinical documentation processes.
- The ability to manage own workload and act independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sensitivity and empathy with people from different backgrounds
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to use ACCUrx
Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy to at least level 2
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Systmone clinical system or another similar clinical system.

- Level 3 qualification in customer service orientated role
- Medical terminology qualification
