Medical receptionist required for busy, friendly general practice in Tipton. The role involves all day to day activities of running a general administration team. A good telephone manner and keyboard skills are required.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve all day to day running of busy general practice, answering telephone, booking appointments, dealing with enquiries and all general administration duties. The practice uses SystmOne computer system, so knowledge of this would be ideal.
We are located in a modern attractive building which hosts other services within the building. We are a friendly, small team and are welcoming another member to help with our busy workload.
Making appointments, taking requests for prescriptions, checking results from hospital have arrived and advising patients if follow up appointment is required, home visit requests, deal with general enquiries and complaints, contacting other providers, register new patients, greet and direct patients and visitors, making appointments, handing and booking out prescriptions, ensure outstanding queries are explained and hand over to next shift as necessary, respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery, e.g. chaperone, pulling out LLoyd George records when requested by doctors, dealing with requests and queries for prescriptions as per practice protocol, inputting and extracting information on SystmOne, observe health and safety guidelines at all times, general housekeeping (e.g keeping reception and waiting areas tidy), make refreshments for doctors and other team members, participate in washing up, adhoc duties by Practice Manager/GPs
