Fleggburgh Surgery

Patient Coordinator

The closing date is 04 February 2026

Job summary

Fleggburgh Surgery is a small, rural GP Practice offering outstanding personalised care to our 2000 patients. We are a small team and as such are looking for a motivated individual who works well with others and is enthusiastic about going above and beyond for our patients.

The successful applicant will need to be able to work 08:15-18:00 Monday & Thursday and 08:15-13:00 on a Tuesday. We may be able to offer overtime on an adhoc basis if desired.

Main duties of the job

As Patient Coordinator, you will be the face and the voice of the Surgery. Our patients will rely on you to support them when they are most in need - worried, in pain or concerned for a loved one. The successful applicant will work independently on their days of work, to answer all patient enquiries - via the telephone and our online service to signpost and book patients with the right person for their need. The successful applicant will also be responsible for managing referrals to other providers such as the hospital and community services through the ERS portal, and for completing all patient record administration including registrations and deductions.

The successful applicant will work closely with our small Dispensary Team and would be given the opportunity to complete a dispensing course if this was of interest.

Our Patient Coordinator will work closely with our GPs, Nurses and other health care professionals to ensure continuity of care, and to escalate concerns appropriately.

We would also offer the applicant the opportunity to complete Phlebotomy training, if this was of interest to them, to further their personal development, potentially holding their own clinic at the Surgery where possible.

About us

Fleggburgh Surgery is a small, rural, dispensing surgery - providing care to 2000 patients, led by a GP Partner - Dr Moore, and a Managing Partner - Caitlin Clarke. The team is led day to day by a full time Practice Manager and a Dispensary Manager.

Our Team is a close knit team, and the successful individual needs to be able to work closely with others, understanding that they will make a huge difference to their colleagues and patients. Everyone is willing and able to jump in to differing roles to ensure the surgery is resilient in times of need.

In return for kindness, motivation and hard work - you will be rewarded with a good sense of humour, a fully stocked kitchen of snacks, social outings, Easter/Christmas gifts, practice bonuses for practice performance and the opportunity to learn new skills! Our patients are hugely complimentary and supportive of the Surgery - and you will be welcomed with kindness by them, and our team.
