Job summary

Are you looking for a salaried GP post in a supportive environment, 2-8 sessions per week with a nice mix of patients in a suburban setting? Then read on! Crystal Peaks Medical Centre is seeking enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our friendly and supportive team who pride ourselves on delivering high quality General Practice care, we can offer posts of between 2 and 8 sessions to fulfil our vacancy requirements.

Main duties of the job

We are a well-organised team comprising 3 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, practice pharmacist, 2 nurses, 2 HCAs and excellent administrative and management team and have recently started hosting Phase 3b medical students. Maximum of 13 patients per session; one session of patients on on-call day (approximately one on-call day per week depending on number of sessions). GPs meet daily at lunch to discuss complex cases, offer mutual support and discuss allocation of home visits. Option to undertake occasional additional Hub shifts for Township 1 PCN population, based at our surgery (Monday / Wednesday / Friday evenings)

Job description

Job responsibilities

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.

Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a.The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b.The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c.Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d.Effective management of long-term conditions

e.Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

g.Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

h.Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

i.Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

j.Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

k.Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training

l.Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

m.Prepare and complete the revalidation process

n.Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

o.Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
