Job summary
Job Title: Practice Nurse
We are looking to recruit a Practice Nurse to join our small friendly nursing team.
About us:
- We are a small training practice of approximately 6200 patients in Long Eaton
- We are very supportive of our staff and are able to get to know our patients and their families as individuals being a small Practice.
- Our clinical staff comprises of 2 GP Partners 2 salaried GPs, GP registrars in training, a clinical Pharmacy Team, 1 Nurse Lead, 3 skilled nurses and 1 HCA .
- The vacancy has arisen as one of our nurses is leaving to undertake a career in Diabetes management.
- Clinicians are supported by an effective administrative team with strong management skills being developed to better patient care.
- We are high QOF achievers
- We use System One computer system
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would ideally be able to undertake the full range of Practice Nurse duties listed -This list is an example and not exhaustive.
Immunisations both routine and childhood
Health promotion and screening including cytology
Venepuncture ECGs and BP
Annual chronic disease reviews such as COPD, Asthma, Diabetes and Hypertension,
Learning disability annual reviews
Contraception and sexual health
Dressings - wound care, removal of clips and sutures
Work in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide excellent patient care.
