HCA GP Surgery

Job summary

We are looking for a HCA to join our friendly team approximately 30 hrs per week over 4 days

To assist with the delivery and provision of high quality primary Healthcare service for patients within the practice including clinical and administrative tasks in which they have been trained and/or shown to be competent. The HCA will work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team in order to promote a high standard of health and well-being amongst the patient population and to facilitate access to appropriate medical personnel when required.

Main duties of the job

To assist the GPs and nurses in providing a high standard of care for the practice population within the practice policies, procedures and guidelines.To assist the GP's, nurses and practice staff to meet the nationally agreed targets for health as agreed in the new GMS contract.To carry out clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a senior member of staff.

Clinical Tasks

Phlebotomy, Electrocardiographs (ECG's), Blood pressure monitoring, Carers reviews,NHS Health Checks, Urinalysis Health education including promoting the health benefits of a healthy diet, smoking cessation, weight management, Health screening of patients with pre Diabetes and diabetic foot checks, Ordering of clinical stock

About us

Avenham Surgery is an inner city practice with a patient population of approximately 7,600. We are close to the motorway with easy access to the coast and country side.

We have a very friendly practice team with a varied skill mix including GPs ENP, PN, NA and HCA. We also have access to our PCN SP and mental health workers. All of whom are supported by our administration team.

We are a training practice and take medical students, student PA and have an FY2 + GPST2's on rotation.
