Practice Nurse

Job summary

Dr Fox and Partners have an exciting opportunity for a Newly Qualified Nurse or Practice Nurse to join our friendly and highly performing practice. We have a patient population of 13,000 across two sites in the Leeds 14 and 15 locality area. Our practice has a great reputation for being innovative and embracing local and national schemes that offer new services to our patients and support our workforce to develop their roles.

Main duties of the job

Practice Nurse

• Practice Nurse Treatment Room Duties and Long Term Conditions as listed in Job Description and Person Specification
• Supporting and supervising student nurses and junior nursing staff

Senior Practice Nurse

• Management of patients with all Long Term Conditions
• Delivery of vaccination and immunisations programmes
• Delivery of womens health clinics including cervical screening, sexual health and contraception clinics
• Pathological specimens and investigatory procedures
• Delivery of Travel Health assessment and vaccinations
• Performing screening and diagnostic tests including spirometry, ECGs, Doppler assessments
• Ear Care
• Advanced wound care management including leg ulcer management
• Management of own results and referrals
• Supporting the implementation of new ways of working
• All general treatment room duties and any other duties as required by the practice within your professional competencies.

About us

Our Practice Team

Our clinical team consists of 7 Partners (6 GPs and 1 Managing Partner), 5 GPs, 5 GP Registrars, 2 Pharmacists, 3 Practice Nurses, Nurse Associate and 2 HCAs. To support our clinical team, we have experienced team of admin, reception, and management staff.

Advanced Training Practice

As an Advanced Training Practice, we train Student Nurses, Advanced Practitioners, New to Practice Nurses, Apprentices, Pre reg Pharmacists, GP Registrars, and roles within the PCN. All our staff are expected to be involved in mentoring supervising or supporting trainees. Holding or working towards a qualification as a supervisor to support our student nurses would be expected as a Practice Nurse.
