Job summary

We are a well established friendly small rural GP Surgery seeking a dedicated Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support in a medical setting, ensuring the smooth operation of the The Surgery.

Please Note: This role also requires 4 hours cover on Reception each week - plus additional cover for sickness and annual leave.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team.

Duties can include, but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, completing and sending referral letters and forms.

Overview:We are seeking a dedicated Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support in a medical setting, ensuring the smooth operation of the The Surgery.

Responsibilities:- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner- Coordinate communication between medical staff, patients, and visitors- Process medical billing and insurance claims- Assist with administrative tasks to support the healthcare team

Qualifications:- Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably in a medical environment- Proficient in office software applications such as Microsoft Office- Excellent organisational and time management skills- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities- Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous
