Job summary

Hornchurch Healthcare is looking for a part-time receptionist for 15.75 hours a week.We are looking for a motivated and organised administrator to join our team and support our operations.

Main duties of the job

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

oTo be the first point of contact for patients, reflecting the ethos and values of the practice with every interaction namely, to act with integrity and show respect, putting our patients at the forefront and displaying a sincere commitment to offering the best possible care.

oTriaging patients calls signposting patients to the most appropriate service in a calm, professional and reassuring manner.

oManaging the practice email account actioning incoming emails as necessary, and ensuring all correspondence is entered onto the correct patient record.

oProcessing repeat prescriptions in a prompt fashion.

oTo support the practice in achieving its targets for QOF; for instance, the booking and recalling of patients for annual reviews.

oAnswering the phones in a timely manner, ensuring that incoming calls are covered at all times and that messages are recorded and conveyed to the appropriate recipient without delay.

oScanning documents to patients records making certain that all data is accurate and up-to-date, whilst preserving patient confidentiality.

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
