Job summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced GP Practice Secretary/Administrator to join our team in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Referrals ( choose and book referrals) , Knowledge of how to take practice meeting minutes
  • Maintain patient records accurately and ensure confidentiality
  • -Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly

Main duties of the job

Processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS)

Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required

Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficientlyManaging all enquiries in an effective manner

Maintaining an accurate referrals databaseScanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records

Inputting data into the patients healthcare records as necessary

Great Park medical Group looks after over 13,000 patients and operates from 2 sites in a leafy suburban area in South Birmingham. We are an high QOF achieving practice with a Good CQC rating.

Through our centralised back-office functions, our systems are organised so we can concentrate on healthcare and not administration.

We are a well established training practice with senior GP cover, FY2, ST Trainees, Paramedic and Clinical Pharmacist. Our practices place great value on teaching, training and mentorship within the team.

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team.

Duties can include, but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).
