An exciting opportunity has arisen to work across Outer West PCN practices in this new and innovative Digital Officer post. This fulfilling role will lend itself predominantly to promote and increase the usage of digital services across our practices, including but not exclusively to below:

Online consultations

Text messaging

Social media

Website

Online surveys

Online ordering of prescriptions

Accessing self-help online

Main duties of the job

To aid the PCN & its member practices to implement digital changes at a GP practice & PCN level.

Help coordinate digital developments with practices,providing a local point of contact fo rdevelopments. As agreed with the respective PCN the PCN Digital officer will take responsibility for delivery of certain digital plans.

PCN Digital Office will be expected to develop internal expertise on digital tools & services in use within the PCN & its member practices & undertake work with member practices to reduce variation and to link with PCN Toolkit & ensure that plans are aligned to the clinical strategy of the PCN.

Contribute to continuous improvement & service & business planning & the wider aims & objectives of the PCN to improve & support primary care.

Work in accordance with the practices and PCNs policies & procedures & support the practices to exceed their NHS England digital access benchmarks.

Reduce demand for telephone appointments by increasing the usage of online services & consolidate existing research in this area & conduct patient engagement surveys using traditional & innovative techniques

Design social media presence considering all GDPR, patient confidentiality, & NHS rules around public information & write content for website and social media. Work with practices to identify digital offerings that aren't being utilised to their full potential working to improve efficiency as directed by each practice in the PCN and support practice health promotion & projects.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Grade A-C in Maths and English
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
  • Demonstrable commitment to professional and personal development.
  • Experience of practice/PCN financial account systems

Desirable

  • Able to demonstrate experience in leading on IT projects

  • Excellent written and spoken language skills

  • Understanding of the communities served by the Primary Care Network and the challenges it faces
