An exciting opportunity has arisen at Haverthwaite Surgery.
We are a small rural dispensing practice and we are looking for an
enthusiastic, committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our experienced and
dedicated team. We are a well-established Practice situated in Back Barrow,
near Ulverston. The team has an excellent skill mix whereby the GPs and Nursing
team work closely together to provide first-rate patient access.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have experience in General Practice
or Out of Hours and will:
Work collaboratively with the whole practice team to
deliver an excellent experience that meets the needs of the patients.
Provide care for the presenting patient; from initial
history taking, triaging, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and
evaluation.
Use critical thinking and practices within professional
boundaries.
Be proactive and a driver for change, assist in the
training, development and clinical supervision of practice personnel.
About us
Practice Information: 1 GP partner with 2,800 patients, 2
part-time GPs. 1 Practice Nurse and 1 Health Care Assistant. Excellent Administration
and Reception Team, EMIS Web.

SUMMARY
The post holder as an Advanced
Practitioner, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care
for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment,
diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical
decision-making and expert care for patients with the general practice.
Advanced clinical practice is
defined by Health Education England as being delivered by experienced,
registered health and care practitioners.
A level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and
complex decision making is essential which is underpinned by a Masters level
award or equivalent encompassing the four pillars of clinical practice: leadership
and management; education and research along with demonstration of core
capabilities and area specific clinical competence. Advanced clinical practice embodies the
ability to manage clinical care in partnership with individuals, families and
carers. It also includes the analysis
and synthesis of complex problems across a range of setting which enables
innovative solutions to enhance patients experience and improve outcomes.
