Kensington Road is a long-established GP surgery in the
suburb of Earlsdon, Coventry. With a full compliment of clinical staff and a number of ARRS Roles who work regularly
within the practice.
We are seeking to recruit a Reception / Administrator on a full
time basis to join our friendly, dynamic team! With a culture of delivering
high quality care, you will act as the first point of contact for patients and
visitors using the practice.

Our reception area is busy so a can-do attitude
along with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure are essential.
The post is initially for part time with the
possibility of progressing to full time in the near future.
Be reliable, professional and adaptable to excel
in an ever-changing environment.
Have a high degree of empathy, diplomacy and
integrity and be able to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of patients needs.
Due to the NHS commitment to moving to full
electronic communications you must have excellent keyboard and computer skills,
with a working knowledge of basic MS office programs such as Word / Excel and
be comfortable communicating via email.

Greet patients and visitors to the practice in a courteous, efficient, professional end empathic manner.
- Book in, amend and cancel patient appointment in line with practice appointments procedures ensuing optimum efficiency of the appointment system.
- Ensure those patients without appointments but who need 'urgent consultations are booked into appropriate slots with the appropriate clinician.
- Receive and accurately record requests for home visits, assessing urgency in accordance with the Practices protocols.
- Print off home visit summary sheets.
- Ensure computerised appointment system is up to date.
- Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests appropriately
- Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and temporary residents, ensure procedures are completed.
- Accurately take details of new patients and distribute new patient registration packs.
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
- Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are filed electronically in correct patient record.
- Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy
- Re-stocking of information leaflets as appropriate
- Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.
- Undertake administration tasks as allocated on rota
- Ensure up-to-date maintenance of both computerised and manual filing systems (i.e. patient notes).
