Job summary

Experienced NHS GP Practice Manager required for busy and popular GP Surgery in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear.

Main duties of the job

The complete and total day to day running of a busy and highly popular NHS GP Surgery including HR, Finance, administration, management of staff, premises upkeep, IT, clinical governence and always ensuring the continuation of our outstanding preformance.

About us

Whitley Bay Health Centre is based in the town centre and is a busy surgery based in a shared building. Bus and Metro services are close by for those who will need to commute.

We are a GMS practice with just over 13,000 patients based in Whitley Bay town center. You will be joining a well established team of eight GP Partners, five nurses and an admin team of 20. Rated "outstanding" by CQC in 2016, we are a friendly and hardworking group who excel in providing a personalized service to our patients

Job responsibilities

Hours of work: Full Time/Five Days per Week

Responsible to: The Partners

Responsible for: All Nursing and Admin Staff

Main purpose of the job/key objectives:

To manage the Practice along the lines of its aims and objectives as agreed with the Partners and approved by them. Be responsible for ensuring that those goals are achieved and monitored as far as possible, in such a way that the Partners and staff will be free to concentrate on giving the best possible service to the patients.

To establish an excellent communications system within the Practice which reaches all staff.

To have in place a sound management structure forming the focal point in the Practice which will enhance the clinical excellence.To develop new strategies and systems which best implement the Practices objectives. To write policy documents incorporating new procedures and guidelines, which effectively demonstrate to staff a clear way in how to manage change.

To determine from time-to-time patient opinion regarding the services provided and how they are delivered. To assess and analyse responses from patients and implement change accordingly in agreement with the Partners. To monitor all procedures in place to ensure they are still current and adhered to.To establish a Practice Training & Development Plan for all Partners and staff.

To provide a full range of personnel management services for the staff. Selection, supervision, welfare, health & safety, discipline, grievance and performance appraisal.
