to join our practice team, working within our busy practice
dispensary. If you have an appetite for learning and can demonstrate

NVQ level 2
dispensing doctors course or equivalent experience preferred. However, not
essential as training will be given.
Hours: Monday to Friday between 08:00-18:00
Main duties of the job
The role will support all aspects of the dispensary service and you will need to be able to demonstrate good interpersonal, mathematical and I.T. skills.
Working as part of a close knit team, duties include:
- Dispensing medicines, picking medicines from stock, including accuracy and date checking
- Face to face and telephone customer service, responding to patient enquiries about their medicines
- Use of the practice clinical systems and digital solutions
- Stock management
- Processing NHS prescriptions
- Medicines deliveries
- Taking payments for prescription fees

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for providing a
high quality dispensing service to the patients of the practice, to support
their co-workers, clinical and management team in the delivery of dispensing
medication.

- Observance of health & safety and security of
the workplace.
- Customer Care Focus with the ability to communicate with people face to face, on the phone or in writing.
- Physically fit and well to meet the demands of the role.
- Effective / efficient use of resources.
- Working in partnership with others to ensure
effective delivery of care.
- Contribution of continual service improvement.
- Driver with own transport essential.
Job Specific:
- Dispensing all prescriptions accurately, either
acutely or as a repeat item.
- Communicating well with colleagues and dealing with all patient enquiries.
- Maintain clinical database for medication.
- Cover for branch surgeries / holidays & sickness absence as required.
- To work as an effective member of the dispensing
team.
- Keeping all dispensaries stocked efficiently.
- Making sure all items are in date by date checking stock.
- Making sure all dispensing areas are clean and
tidy.
- Making sure medications are stored
in alphabetical order and this is maintained at all times.
- Maintaining high standards, accuracy and attention to detail when working under pressure at busy times.
