Job summary

We are seeking a healthcare assistant with general practice experience to join our friendly team at Headcorn Surgery. The working hours are Fridays 8am to 6pm plus 24 Saturdays per annum 9am to 5pm (Saturday is paid at an enhanced rate).

Salary depending on experience, relevant qualifications and enhanced DBS check are required. Headcorn Surgery is an equal opportunities employer.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include blood pressure checks, patient health checks, vaccinations including flu, treatment room tasks including ear irrigation, wound care, administration of injectable drugs, ECGs and some phlebotomy.

About us

Headcorn Surgery is a long established and well thought of semi-rural practice, with a growing list. The beautiful purpose-built premises are less than 10 years old and situated on the outskirts of the historical village of Headcorn just south of Maidstone.The surrounding countryside ensures driving to work and out for occasional visits is an absolute joy.

With our sister practice Greensand Health Centre in Coxheath, we have recently formed our own small PCN [Athena PCN], and an extended Partnership of 3 GP and 2 Manager Partners.

We have a skilled and experienced administration team and achieve highly in QOF and incentive schemes. We also offer a range of enhanced services, including minor surgery, joint injection, VMO service to a nursing home, and insertion of coils and contraceptive implants. There will be ample opportunity for you to obtain supported experience should you wish to expand your skills in any of these areas. Our multidisciplinary clinical team already includes 3 salaried GPs, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, a First Contact Paramedic Practitioner, a Nurse Practitioner specialising in women's health, 2 nurses, 2 HCAs and a phlebotomist.

We have a pharmacy within our building, which is manned by an experienced pharmacist and skilled dispensing team.
