Main duties of the job
As our PCN Manager, you will be a pivotal figure, working closely with our Clinical Director, Practice Managers, and PCN Board members to ensure the efficient, effective, and strategic development of our network.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic & Operational Leadership:Form an integral part of the PCN Leadership, supporting the Clinical Director with strategic planning and overseeing the day-to-day smooth running of the network.
- Financial Stewardship:Manage PCN finances, including budget oversight, processing payment claims, accurate reporting, and ensuring maximum effectiveness of financial resources.
- People Management & HR Excellence:Work with our operational manager to oversee day-to-day line management and leadership to our diverse PCN team.
- Governance & Compliance:Ensure the PCN maintains strict compliance with all NHS, CQC, and contractual obligations, including DES and IIF targets.
- Project & Initiative Delivery:Support the implementation of new initiatives, coordinate the delivery of enhanced services, and ensure agreed objectives are met, achieving quality outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Act as a central point of contact, fostering positive working relationships with member practices, external agencies, and patient groups.
- Information & Administration:Provide timely information analysis, administrative support, and coordinate essential meetings for PCN activities.

3. Key Responsibilities
The PCN Manager will undertake a diverse range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Strategic & Operational Leadership:
- Form an integral part of the PCN Leadership, supporting the Clinical Director with strategic planning and overseeing the day-to-day smooth running of the network.
- Coordinate essential meetings and manage diverse projects to ensure the overall efficient functioning of the network.
- Support the implementation of new initiatives and coordinate the delivery of enhanced services, ensuring agreed objectives are met and quality outcomes are achieved.
- Assist with planning, development, and implementation of changes necessary to meet new demands on the PCN from internal and external sources.
- Financial Stewardship:

- Work closely with the accountants to ensure financial resources are managed and maintained effectively.
- Monitor and check the accuracy of submissions for Enhanced Services and contractual requirements, ensuring all claims are submitted in a timely manner.
- Human Resources & People Leadership:
- Support the operational lead in the day-to-day line management and leadership to the diverse PCN team.
- Support the operational lead in the recruitment and induction of new PCN employees, ensuring fair allocation of resources across the network.
- Oversee critical HR functions such as annual leave management, staff appraisals, and performance management.
- Actively support general staff welfare, facilitate positive employee relations, and resolve workplace disputes.
- Play a key role in the planning and deployment of Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) staff.
- Ensure the PCN complies with current employment laws and regulations.
