Job summary
We are a friendly rural practice in South Shropshire looking
to recruit a Practice Nurse to join our team to cover maternity leave. There is
possibility of extending the contract for the right candidate.
Duties will include the usual range of Practice Nurse tasks
such cervical screening, chronic disease monitoring and wound management.
A willingness to learn new skills and to work as part of a
friendly, effective team is essential to this post.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the delivery of general nursing services and disease management to our practice population.

About us
We are a rural practice in the beautiful Shropshire Hills just on Powys border with a practice list size of approximately 5600.
We currently have 2 GP Partners & 3 Associate GPs. The GPs are supported by a very experienced clinical team consisting of ANPs, practice nurses, paramedic and a HCA.
We also have an FCP, Social Prescriber, Psychotherapist and a Practice Pharmacist.
We are a high performing practice with excellent patient feedback. We work closely with our patient group and external organisations to ensure we are providing the best care possible to our patients.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following
Clinical
- Undertake cytology and action results appropriately
- Care of chronic wounds, pressure and leg ulcers
- Removal of Sutures/Staples
- Urinalysis for both acute and chronic conditions
- Family planning Contraception
- Hormone Replacement Treatment monitoring
- ECGs both acute and routine as required
- Long term condition management (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD)
- Hypertension Management 24hr Blood Pressure Monitoring and blood pressure checks in clinic
- Prepare and send samples for lab testing
- Chaperoning or assisting another clinician as requested
- Assisting clinicians with minor procedures if required.
