Main duties of the job
We are looking for a qualified Pharmacist to join our friendly, local GP surgery
The role of a Penrose Health Pharmacist is to work with our team to deliver the best healthcare service to our patients. More specifically, our Pharmacists will be responsible for looking after all aspects of our patients medication including repeat prescriptions, medication reviews, drug monitoring and more.
With the support of the other pharmacists across our group of practices and the experienced clinical team on site, you will be able to share information, learn and grow in your confidence and ability. Youll have the autonomy to manage your own patient list whilst being supported by a part-time Pharmacist Dispenser who will work with you on repeat prescribing and other tasks.
Pharmacists in the practice report to the group Lead Pharmacist.

Job responsibilities
Working with the Central Management Team (CMT), the
group Pharmacy Lead and the site Lead GP to plan and provide a comprehensive
general practice pharmacy service for the practices patients. This includes
but is not limited to:
o
Answering ad-hoc medication queries
o
Processing repeat prescriptions
o
Medication reviews and health education advice
o
Monitoring medications effects through
appropriate tests and observations
o
Following up on prescribing issues and
facilitate implementation of changes
o
Chronic disease management (as appropriate
within competency)
o
Seasonal immunisations (as appropriate within
competency)
Work with the Lead GP to identify, maintain and
work through registers of those patients who require medication reviews
Ensure repeat prescribing across the practice is
efficient, effective and best practice
o
Promote the use of EPS / other systems to
improve prescribing efficiency
Work with the Lead GP and CMT to achieve and
maintain all targets/KPIs
o
Includes QOF and other national / local schemes
as well as any internal practice targets
o
Ensuring patients outstanding tasks are
completed on an ad-hoc basis
o
Record and monitor results in the clinical
system and initiate measures to improve uptake if required
Ensure clinical governance standards are met,
including:
o
Managing clinical risk within own clinics
o
Active participation in clinical meetings
o
Understanding and learning from complaints or
significant events
Develop a good working relationship with local
Community and Hospital Pharmacists to enable successful implementation of local
services
Offer support, training and supervision to
junior colleagues and any Pharmacy Dispensers / Technicians in the practice
Provide first aid in emergency situations

Location: Kingfisher Medical Centre (SE8 5DA)
Hours: Ideally full time (weekdays only)
Salary: £ 40,000 - 46,000 WTE depending on experience. Overtime paid if required
