Job responsibilities

The Deputy Practice Manager is responsible for:

• Responsible person for Safeguarding in a non-clinical capacity supporting the clinical Safeguarding Lead.
• Ensuring the Practice is CQC compliant by working with management colleagues.
• Ensuring a robust practice audit programme is in place and appropriate for all areas working with the Practice Manager
• Management of patient complaints
• Responsible for the implementation and review of Practice policies and SOPs.
• Responsible for certain contracts within the Practice & support of certain roles i.e. GP Assistant.
• Oversee the day to day running of the Premises maintenance
• General assistance to the Practice Manager.

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Deputy may be requested to:

• Deputise for the Practice Manager at internal and external meetings.
• Any other tasks that may be deemed necessary to ensure the safe and effective running of the practice.

  Induction Training

  On arrival at the practice you will be guided with a practice induction program during your first few weeks. Please ask HR or Operations Manager.

  Learning and Development

  We provide training for staff to ensure that everyone possesses the appropriate skills, knowledge, attitude and competences to perform their role effectively. You will be required to partake and complete mandatory training as well as participating in the practice training programme.

  Staff will also be permitted (subject to approval) to undertake external training which would enhance the knowledge and skills, and improve process and service delivery. Please discuss this with your line manager.

  Collaborative working

  Everyone should recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork is essential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication is essential and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.

  Service Delivery

  You should adhere to the information contained with practice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered to at all times. You will be given detailed information during the induction process.

  Security

  We are all responsible for ensuring a safe and secure working environment. You must ensure you remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity immediately to your line manager or Operations Manager. Under no circumstances should you share the codes for the door locks or leave secure doors open.

  Professional Conduct

  Whilst employed by the Surgery you are expected to act professionally and with courtesy to others at all times. You should ensure that you are dressed appropriately for your role.
