Job summary
Inspire Health has a hugely caring
and supportive nursing team who are keen to find the right general Practice
Nurse to join them.
The post is within a GP surgery
setting working as part of a friendly team covering 2 GP practices. The role
requires the person to work independently in a clinic setting. There will be
other clinical and administrative aspects to the role which will require the
candidate to be computer literate and capable of learning new systems if not
already familiar to them.
The candidate will support
the wider team with other clinical activities which will include treatment room
activities such as cervical screening, routine and emergency immunisations,
wound care and supervision of other team members. Specialist long term
condition management in asthma, COPD and Diabetes alongside anticoagulation treatment
and spirometry will all be part of the role after suitable training. Other areas will include stock management,
equipment maintenance, safety checks and occasional home visiting.
The ideal candidate would be warm, caring and efficient. Being a good listener
and receptive to change is essential in order to work effectively in our team.
Main duties of the job
Specialist long term
condition management in asthma, COPD and Diabetes alongside anticoagulation
treatment and spirometry will all be part of the role after suitable training
in each. Other areas of the role include
supervision of the more junior staff, training and development of nursing and
other professionals, stock, drug and vaccine management, equipment maintenance,
safety checks and home visiting.
The post holder will be working
independently in a fast-paced clinic environment. This will involve using
different computer systems with confidence.
Other roles may include chaperoning, stock management, quality control
and cleaning of certain equipment. There may be the need for some home visits
so having a clean driving licence would be very helpful.
As
a training practice the post holder will be required to support students from a
wide range of specialities who are training within the practice.
The post holder will train in
and follow national guidelines and local practice polices and there will be an
expectation that the post holder will complete all mandatory training and
suitable continuing professional development in line with their role.
