Practice Nurse

Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic, resilient, Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. The post holder will be flexible, hardworking and empathetic and responsible for the delivery of practice nursing activities to the practice population. 

Main duties of the job

They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of quality QoF and enhanced services, maintaining safe infection control processes, supporting the delivery of immunisation (both child and adult) and cervical screening programmes, safeguarding, policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership duties as required.

You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population.

Clinically, the focus of the role is management of patients with long-term conditions and general nursing interventions for all patients.

Perform any investigatory procedures requested by clinicians.

Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team, ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patient notes.

Applicants must possess a RGN qualification.

Applicants must have worked in a GP setting and be able to conduct Asthma, COPD and diabetic reviews.

We are an expanding friendly, supportive busy GMS Practice with currently with 2 Partners, 2 salaried GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistants and a dedicated compliment of administrators and receptionists.

We are looking for innovative, dedicated staff who are willing to join our expanding team and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the practice.

Our list size is 8,788, and we use EMIS and Docman computer systems as well as Accurx Plus.
