Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Manager who will have responsibility for the strategic, finance and personnel management of the practice, development of the practice in line with the new contract and practice based commissioning and for the future growth of the practice.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced and well qualified Manager with a track record of good business and financial management skills, IT and interpersonal skills.

About us

We are a friendly team and pride ourselves on ensuring our team members are supported in their role. This role is supported by the Deputy Practice Manager and both of the practice GP partners. We are an advocate for ongoing personal development. The team meets as a whole on a weekly basis and the partners and Practice Manager meet weekly for a business meeting.

Job responsibilities

To manage the practice on behalf of the partners in an effective and cost effective manner.

Personally and through delegation ensure the smooth running of all practice processes including proper accounting and financial and IT processes.

Personally and through delegation manage and develop our practice staff.

To lead and ensure the financial growth of the practice.

To work closely with the partners, Lambeth ICS, North Lambeth PCN and other agencies to develop and improve the service we provide.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A level or Equivalent.
  • Finance, Business or Management Qualification.
  • At least 2 years experience in a senior management position.
  • Experience of finances. Including Accounting Software, PAYE, managing Budgets etc.
  • Knowledge of Business Skills, IT skills and Marketing skills.
  • Intelligent, clear thinking and analytical.
  • Ability to take an overview and plan strategically.
  • Ability to make policy decisions and use own initiative and be innovative.
  • Self motivated, reliable and dedicated.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be even tempered.
  • Well organised and meticulous with good time management and delegation skills.
  • Excellent Communications skills including ability to listen and write clearly and accurately.
  • Flexible working attitude.
  • Able to work as part of a team and to be sensitive and assertive as appropriate.
  • Able to manage conflict.

Desirable

  • Degree or Equivalent.
  • Experience of working in the NHS.
  • Management Experience in Primary Care.
  • Previous experience of managing small and large budgets.
  • Ability to keep Partners informed by distilling information and providing regular reporting structure.
  • Able to develop local networks.
  • Able to provide support and cross cover at all levels.
