We are a busy inner London GP practice with a patient list size of 17,000+ and are looking for someone to come in to join our and friendly team.
Position is advertised as a permanent contract which will be reviewed towards expiry to assess the future requirements which may include extending term or converting to a permanent position.

Essex Lodge Surgery (Part of Newham Central Primary Care Network) is delighted to offer one
full-time position for Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber or Non-Prescribing
Pharmacist) who wants to make a difference, the opportunity to join Essex Lodge Surgery.
We see the role of the Pharmacist as critical to realising our ambitions to improve outcomes.
We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Pharmacist to further improve the already excellent quality
of service offered to the local population. The practice populations is diverse and this provides
an interesting variety of work for anyone hoping to join our practice.
The role is diverse and will likely evolve . You can expect the role to
include risk stratification, patient facing medicines support, audit work to assist in meeting
practice targets, repeat prescribing (where applicable), structured medication review.
Participate in covid vaccination programme, flu vaccination programme, unplanned hospital
admission, medicine safety, CQC preparation, implementation of local/national guidelines
and general quality improvement of the practice.
About us
Essex Lodge Surgery is situated within NEL ICB ( North East London Integrated Care Board). The practice is a member of the Newham Central Primary Care Network (PCN).
Currently the practice provides services to approximately 17,000+ patients under a Personal Medical Services (PMS) Contract.
The practice has been a GP training and teaching practice since 1985, having two GP trainers and GP registrars. The practice provides training to medical students from the Queen Mary University of London and also medical students from Kings College London. Training and development are therefore an important part of the practices ethos.

The purpose of the role is to:
Be responsible for the clinical coding of relevant information into the patients electronic healthcare record using EMIS software.
To adhere to the practices coding policy.
Support our multidisciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the clinical coding team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Management team
- Scanning of any clinical letters received from all external organisations and filing all electronically received mail into patient records and to be coded in accordance with practice policy.
- Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions.
- Input and extract data as required to support practice reports.
- File and store records as required.
- Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary.
- Carry out system searches as requested and conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise.
- To attend regular coder meetings for updates and sharing of information.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
- Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.
