Job summary

As a HR Manager you will be responsible for a variety of HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management and employee relations.

Main duties of the job

The following are the primary responsibilities of the HR Manager post.

Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs, create job descriptions / person specifications, and facilitate the hiring process

Contribute to the development, implementation and updating of the Practices' HR policies, procedures and programs, helping to ensure that they comply with employment law and case law.

Contribute to the development of effective staff management practices to support organisational goals and promote a positive work culture

Assist managers with performance management, including probation assessments and succession planning

Assist managers with absence management

Manage all onboarding and offboarding processes, including safer recruitment and management of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks

Provide advice and assistance to Managers in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment

Review, adapt, evolve, and/or develop all people related policies and procedures

To contribute to the development and delivery of training on a range of HR policies and procedures

To be directly responsible for managing complex and high-profile recruitment issues and campaigns as necessary

To reconcile any contractual changes via HR payroll reports e.g. new starters, leavers, change to contracts etc, and ensuring that the appropriate action is taken

To provide support through taking minutes during investigations and at meetings as required
