Job summary

The Partners of Tunstall Primary Care are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to take on the role of a full time General Practice Nurse.

As a Practice Nurse at Tunstall Primary Care, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional healthcare services to our patients. You will work collaboratively with our healthcare providers and support staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care are maintained

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Excellent all round communication skills
  • Fully qualified and experienced General Practice Nurse
  • Experience in patients with chronic diseases
  • Knowledge of EMIS Web clinical system, however training can be provided for the right candidate

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The practice nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, well women and well man clinics, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure.

  • Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly

  • Spirometry
  • CHD
  • Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel)
  • Womens health (cervical cytology, contraception, etc.)
  • Understanding the importance of evidence based practice
