Job summary
Bean Medical Practice is a small friendly practice with a list size of approximately 4,000 patients. We are currently looking to recruit a practice nurse to join our team
Main duties of the job
To manage patients with chronic disease, running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust call and recall systems
Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule
Provide travel health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations
Treat patients with minor injuries
Provide directly and assist GPs with contraceptive services
Break bad news to patients/parents/carers and provide appropriate ongoing support to meet identified needs
Act as chaperone when required
Undertake health promotion to help educate patients
Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests
To maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes
Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care
Participate in regular Practice audit and research projects
To contribute to the preparation of any Practice development plansTo maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to Code of Professional Conduct
Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Health & Safety, COSHH, etc.) are implemented and adhered to
To maintain own continuous professional development and ensure PDP kept up-to-date in line with the requirements of the Practice
Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions
Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time-to-time

We are a small friendly team with 2 GP partners, practice nurse, practice manager, reception team and a secretary.
