Job summary

Kirkham Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for a salaried GP to join our friendly, high achieving and well-respected Practice. We are keen to find the right person to further enhance our GP team whilst providing a supportive and fulfilling environment in return. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Primary Care, have a forward thinking and dynamic approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient- focused services.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a salaried GP to work between 6-8 clinical sessions per week. Working days and surgery times are flexible by negotiation.

We offer 6 weeks annual leave and one week study leave pro rata. We have no out of hours or weekend working.

Primary Responsibilities

The delivery of highly effective medical care to thepatientpopulation.

The provision of servicescommensuratewith the GMS contract.

Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.

Effective management of Long-Term Conditions.

Processing of administrationin a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.

On a rotational basis, undertaketheDuty Doctor role.

Undertake home visits whererequired.

Maintainaccurateclinical records in conjunction with good practice,policyand guidance.

Identify,implementand embed best Practice through clinical guidelines and the audit process.

Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the Practice.

Activelyassistin the achievement of Practice based contractual targets.

Attend and contribute to Practice meetings asrequired.

Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.

Prepare and complete the revalidation process.

Commit to self-learning and share in the ethos of continuing professional development across the Practice team.

Always review and adhere to Practice protocols and policies.

Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Secondary Responsibilities

Participate in Practice audits.

Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.

Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events.

About us

Kirkham Health Centre is a well-established, patient centred GP surgery situated in the market town of Kirkham within the Fylde Coast area. We have a patient population of 9,800 patients, covering a mixed urban and rural area.

We own our own building and have an extensive primary care team comprising of 4 GP Partners,1salaried GP, 3 ANPs, 1 Paramedic, 4 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA, 1 Trainee Nursing Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy technician, Social Prescriber, Mental Health Practitioner and a supportive Administration and Reception team.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming practice who are committed to delivering high quality care to our patients. Our triage system coordinated by our Advanced Nurse Practitioner team allows for excellent access to services. We are active members of our local Primary Care Network, perform well in QOF and are rated "Good" by the CQC.
