Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our welcoming team.
You will play a vital role in the provision of high-standard clinical care and support the Practice in its desire for continuous improvement.
The role would be for a minimum of 24 hours per week which would ideally be worked over 3 days. Salary would be dependant on experience.
Main duties of the job
Our Practice Nurses work collaboratively within the healthcare team to support the reduction in health inequalities, improve patient outcomes and provide comprehensive patient care.
- Chronic Disease Management.
- Administer vaccinations following national guidelines and maintain accurate records.
- Provide treatment and follow-up care for wounds, leg ulcers, and post-operative dressings.
- Offer smoking cessation support, weight management, and lifestyle advice to patients.
- Conduct cervical screening.
- Undertake ECGs, phlebotomy, and simple injections

Kirkham Health Centre is a well established, patient centred GP surgery situated in the market town of Kirkham within the Fylde Coast area.
Our team consists of 4 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs, 3 ANPs, 1 Paramedic, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA, 1 Trainee Nursing Associate and a supportive Administration and Reception team.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration
- Holds more than one academic Level 6 diploma or postgraduate certification in long-term conditions care and/or public health initiatives
- Qualified and competent in cervical cytology and immunisations
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within Primary Care
- Has demonstratable experience in leading long-term conditions management and quality improvement within a PCN
Desirable
- Experience of using Emis
- Experience of using IT platforms such as Accurx
