Job summary

We are looking for a GP Assistant who can support our clinician team who has experience of phlebotomy, ECG ,knowledge of updating EMIS record and templets. Applicant should have clean driving license so can do routine or urgent home visits for our housebound patients.

Housebound routine/ urgent home visits

Routine health checks ,Asthma, diabetes, COPD review

We are friendly team with Senior GP Practitioner, associate GPs, practice Nurse, HCA , Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, Social worker, First contact practitioners, Osteopath, counsellor and Reception admin team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

As part of the wider team in general practice, General Practice Assistants provide a support role, carrying out administrative tasks, combined in some areas with basic clinical duties. They can help to free up GPs time and contribute to the smooth running of appointments, improving patients experience in the surgery.Explaining treatment procedures to patients. Helping the GP by triaging acute illness while the GP can continue with their consultation(s). Support the GP with immunisations/wound care.

Personal qualities Essential

A strong interest in health and social care

Awareness of infection & hygiene control

Qualifications Essential

Must have an experience in HCA qualifications

A good level of literacy and numeracy

Functional skills test

Clean driving license or personal mode of transport required for homevisits.

A high level of skill in good patient care and working with the public

Experience in recording medical details

Experience of performing blood test

Experience in referring/debriefing to senior colleagues where appropriate

Experience of monitoring and reviewing asthma, COPD & diabetic checks.

Common aliments of triaging UTI/URTI

Home visits for housebound patients

Experience of obtaining, testing and reporting specimens and samples

Experince in wound care

Experience of HCA common examination procedures

Dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs and phlebotomy
