Job summary

We are looking for Salaried GPs to join our team at Commercial Way Surgery.

Commercial Way Surgery is a friendly small Practice based in Peckham with excellent bus links.

The dedicated team have been providing care to the diverse local population for several decades.

The clinical team consists of GP partners, salaried GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses and paramedics. The patients have access to a variety of PCN ARRS staff such as Mental Health Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist and pharmacists at nearby Nexus sites.

I have worked as a salaried GP with NEXUS across four of their different sites over the past seven years. In my role I have the opportunity to work a mixture of clinical sessions, teaching sessions and non-clinical sessions for practice lead work. I also work remotely 2 sessions per week doing e-consultations. I have a strong interest in teaching, and NEXUS have been supportive and encouraged and facilitated me joining the GP Trainers' course in this coming year so that I can also become a formal GP Trainer. Main duties of the job

Your working week

• Clinical session of 16 appointments with mix of face to face and telephone consultations with 1 hour admin time
• Weekly session for continuing professional development (pro rata)
• Limited clinical admin with a dedicated centralised Back Office Team supporting clinicians to manage documents, results and referrals
• Paramedic Team and Elderly Care Nurses on site to carry out Home visits
• Weekly team meeting to discuss clinical cases, learning events and organisational developments.
• Opportunity for different types of sessions e.g. e-consultations, triage GP in our Access Hub, sessions in Extended Primary Care Service.

About us

Nexus Health group is the largest provider of Primary care services in England.We look after a practice population of 76,000 patients spread across our 9 sites. The overall aim of Nexus Health Group is to provide a clinically excellent service to our patients, recognising the needs of our local population and to provide a learning and developmental environment for our staff. Our clinical approach is based on a foundation of clinical excellence, clinical leadership and clinical governance.

We have 9 GP Practices across north Southwark all geographically close and well served by local transport hubs at London Bridge, Elephant & Castle and Canada Water. We share one patient list but our patients are attached to a specific site and are looked after by the site based teams which include GPs, Nurses, Physicians Associates, Paramedics, ANPs and Pharmacists. These site-based teams are supported by centralised HR, IT, Clinical Administration and the Senior Management Team.

All our sites function as traditional practices with a Site Manager and GP partners working in the practice. All sites are involved in GP training and increasingly training the wider AHP team such as nurses and PAs. Nexus works closely with the local PCN with 2 partners as Clinical Directors.
