Job summary
GP to provide clinical support to Nexus Health Group Access Hub.This is a non-patient facing role with no additional admin
The Nexus access hub receives telephone calls and eConsults from our 9 sites in Southwark.Our multidisciplinary primary care team provides primary care to over 70,000 patients.As an Access Hub Clinician you will work alongside our team receiving calls and eConsults.
The role is ideal for an experienced GP who is confident in clinical triage, decision making and problem solving. The access hub was established in January 2023 and we are continuing to strive to improve access for our patients. We welcome someone with vision and ideas to support the ongoing development of our access hub.
Availability for between 4-9 sessions at the hub.
We can also offer a combination of access hub sessions and standard salaried GP clinical sessions at one of our 9 Nexus Sites in Southwark, if you wish to combine this role with patient facing sessions. The access hub sessions would need to be a minimum of 4 sessions.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for -
- Supporting the Hub Patient Service Advisors in signposting and/or booking our patients in the most appropriate appointment
- Triaging urgent appointment requests
- Taking incoming HCP calls
- Assist triage of eConsults and deal with simple eConsults
- Liaise with onsite duty clinicians
- Supervise our Physicians Associates that will be covering eConsults that day (Be available for clinical advice and support prescribing)
About us
Nexus was formed in 2016 with the merging of 4 well established training practices in north Southwark, with a 5th practice joined in 2017. We look after a practice population of 76,000 patients spread across our 9 sites. The overall aim of Nexus Health Group is to provide a clinically excellent service to our patients, recognising the needs of our local population and to provide a learning and developmental environment for our staff. Our clinical approach is based on a foundation of clinical excellence, clinical leadership and clinical governance.
We are based on 9 sites across north Southwark all geographically close and well served by local transport hubs at London Bridge, Elephant & Castle and Canada Water. We share one patient list but our patients are attached to a specific site and are looked after by the site based teams which include GPs, Nurses, Physicians Associates, Paramedics, ANPs and Pharmacists. These site-based teams are supported by centralised HR, IT, Clinical Administration and the Senior Management Team.
All our sites function as traditional practices with a Site Manager and GP partners working in the practice. All sites are involved in GP training and increasingly training the wider AHP team such as nurses and PAs. Nexus works closely with the local PCN with 2 partners as Clinical Directors. As an at scale provider there are many opportunities to develop areas of interest and leadership within Nexus and the wider PCN
