The post requires someone who would feel able to;
Be responsible
for the accurate and timely processing of repeat dispensing prescriptions and
those generated from incoming correspondence.
Be responsible for the
coding of relevant information into our clinical system adhering to the
organisations coding policy.
Liaise with all members of the Practice team and associated staff
Deal with prescription
queries from
patients, , staff, affiliated staff and other companies appropriately
Work as part of the Practice
Team
Use the IT system efficiently
Full training will be provided,
but any previous experience is beneficial
What do we offer?

have just over 7000 patients, use the Emis web IT system, and offer a
supportive, friendly, training environment.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of prescription requests for the entitled population, liaising effectively with all relevant personnel.
To be able to code incoming correspondence into the patients electronic healthcare records on Emis web, adhering to the organisations coding policy.

Job responsibilities
The
following are the core responsibilities of the Prescribing Clerk Administrator. There may be on
occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon
factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.
Produce prescriptions for clinicians to authorise in an
acceptable timeframe.
b.
Ensure all prscription requests are processed and are
ready for collection within 48 working hours manner
c.
Generate requests for medication on behalf of the patient
for non-repeat items
d.
Action any incoming emails
e.
Actively encourage patients to reconcile medications to
facilitate monthly collections
f.
Act upon compliance issues with the appropriate clinician
g.
Ensure medication reviews are arranged by maintaining an
accurate recall system
h.
Effectively liaise with external services
i.
Input data into the patients electronic health record
j.
Carry out system searches
as required
k.
Review clinical letters ensuring they are coded and
processed appropriately
l.
Action all incoming correspondence in a timely manner
m.
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all
times
n.
Support all clinical staff with general administrative
tasks as requested
o.
Support the practice pharmacist as required
p.
Partake in audit as directed by the clinical lead
