Monday 08:00am - 18:30pm (Lunch 13:00pm-14:00pm),
Tuesday 08:00 - 17:00pm (Lunch 13:00pm-14:00pm)
Friday 08:00am - 18:30pm (Lunch 13:00pm-14:00pm)

Main duties of the job
To
receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or
healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
To
ensure administrative and clerical duties within the Practice are carried out
within the guidelines and policies.
To project a positive, friendly and professional
image to patients, visitors and colleagues at all times.

training Practice with 4 dedicated GP Partners and 8 Salaried GP's supported by
a team of highly professional clinical and non-clinical staff to provide the
highest possible standard of care to over 13,200 patients.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities for
this role. There may be on occasion, a
requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such
as workload and staffing levels.

Ensure
an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any
other visitors to the Practice.

Deal
with general enquiries, make appointments and book patients in as arrived.
-
Ensure
those patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are
seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.

Ensure
that all new patients (temporary / INT or permanent) are aware of Practice
arrangements and requirements and registration procedures are completed
accurately.
-
Process
home visits in accordance with Practice policy, ensuring to accurately record
all relevant details and referring to the duty clinician accordingly.

Receive
and make telephone calls as required, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt
appropriate delivery of messages.

Enter
patient information on to the computer as required, ensuring accuracy and
adherence to data protection legislation.

Support
the prescription team with repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice
policy.

Advise
patients of relevant charges for private services, ensuring pre-payment is
made, receipts issued and paperwork completed for financial auditing.

Ensure
paper records are kept in good repair, with all necessary information up to
date and clearly visible.

Ensure
electronic records are up to date and accurate.

Opening
up the premises when required, de-activating the alarm and preparing the
premises to receive patients.

Locking
up the premises when required, ensuring that the building is totally secure,
internal lights are all off and the alarm activated.

Ensure
building security at all times, keeping staff access points locked between 8:30
close of business and closing windows if last to leave the office at the end
of the working day.

Any
other reasonable task allocated by a member of the Management team.
