We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Prescription Clerk to join our supportive team at Knebworth & Marymead Medical Practice. This is a great opportunity for someone with healthcare administration experience who wants to play a vital role in supporting safe, timely, and efficient prescribing for our patients.
About the role:
You will be responsible for managing repeat prescription requests, ensuring prescription safety and accuracy, and working closely with our Clinical Pharmacist Team and wider practice team. You'll also be a key point of contact for patient queries related to prescriptions.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include
Processing and issuing repeat prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner
Liaising with GPs, pharmacists, and patients to clarify or adjust prescriptions as needed
Supporting medication reviews, audits, and clinical safety checks
Maintaining accurate prescription records and ensuring regulatory compliance
Assisting with general prescription-related administration and patient communication
Additional responsibilities may include
Assisting with general administrative tasks to support the wider practice team
Providing reception cover from time to time, including answering phones and assisting patients at the front desk, if required
Full training will be given
