We are currently looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our friendly team. This is a 35-hour-per-week role, working Monday to Friday.

We work closely with a range of services within the Integrated Care Centre including SDUC, X-ray, Physiotherapy, Sexual Health, Outpatients, and District Nursing giving you the chance to collaborate across disciplines and deliver truly integrated patient care.
We use the EMIS Web clinical system, and full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
- Perform phlebotomy (venepuncture) accurately and safely
- Record and monitor vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration
- Conduct electrocardiograms (ECGs) and ensure accurate recording and reporting
- Provide basic wound care and dressing changes following clinical guidelines
- Administer vaccines safely and in line with practice protocols
- Administer vitamin B12 injections autonomously within own clinic sessions
- Monitor and manage patients with hypertension, including patient education and follow-up, running independent HTN clinics
- Manage and run independent clinics (e.g., HTN and B12) autonomously with full responsibility for patient care, documentation and reporting
- Work independently and confidently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively with team members and GPs
- Work effectively as part of the team
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and manage data entry with attention to detail
- IT skills, including use of email and electronic patient record systems, are essential
- Fridge monitoring maintain cold chain storage
- Cleaning equipment and ensuring clinical rooms are cleaned daily
- Previous experience as a Health Care Support Worker with Venipuncture competence is required

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for performing venepuncture during morning clinics. In the afternoon, they will autonomously run their own clinics, managing patient care independently. This role requires a confident and skilled HCA who can work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of patient care.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques, along with excellent patient service skills. As a Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of patients while assisting with various clinical tasks.
